I used the Biohome Mini Ultra Media in a Cascade 1000 canister filter for a planted tank, a pressurized Pond Boss filter for my dog’s water, lily pads and various critters, and a hang on back (HOB) Aqueon 30 filter for my shrimp tank. I did leave some old media in all three applications to seed the new Ultra Mini Media. The Pond Boss has made an amazing change in my dog’s water tank. It is now crystal clear. I even spotted some cherry shrimp in her tank that are going to make it through the winter that are staying close to the the heater. I noticed that after a couple of weeks, some of my shrimp are now carrying eggs. The addition of the Biohome Mini Ultra Media has made a chemical change in the water that has triggered them to reproduce. Biohome Mini Ultra Media is a great product. I suggest when you try it, try to maximize flow around the media to produce better results. Ordered this product to Stabilize my 75 Gallon Aquarium on December 31 2014, and as of today, my PH, Ammonia levels are stable and normal as of 6 Feb. 2015, will be ordering more of these along with the bio balls…even the bio-balls helped my aquarium.

I look forward to getting this media. Ordered tonight, I will have the best media in Terre haute Indiana because all you can get here is the bio ball, rings. Ect. Putting it in a xp3 , I ordered 2 kg I hope that’s enough. Love the information from pondguru on YouTube.

Running on Eheim G90. Following PondGuru’s tips for filter/media setup.
Bought this back in May 2014 (my records show Sept 2014 GW), now Jan 2015. Didn’t have the bio balls due to custom, but the media did mature eventually. Water is clear, fishes are healthy (was previously battling Amonia and black hair algae outbreaks) and plants are thick and green.
No more replacing carbons and ceramics (throw ’em in the garbage!)
