I first bought Bio Home Ultimate Media off Ebay from the Pond Guru. That was very high shipping costs and it took two weeks to receive. Watching his videos I heard about GreatWave in the US. As soon as I saw they had another supply I bought 5 KG. This is by far the best media I’ve ever used and will never use anything else again.

Been using Biohome ultimate for six months in my gold fish tank with a hang on the back filter. Even with limited media space this product kept my levels low. Recently upgrade my filtration to a large canister filter for increased mechanical filtration, and being able to use even more of this great product! After watching PondGuru on YouTube and the detailed information he gave about Biohome Ultimate I made my first purchase of the product. I placed it in my Marineland 330 HOB filter in my 100 gallon community tank and 3 other filters in various other fish tanks. That first purchase was received on October 25, 2014, it is now January 16, 2015.
I am happy to report that ammonia, nitrites, and nitrate all read zero!! I’ve never seen a product that could actually reduce nitrate levels. That to me was absolutely taboo. The only thing I knew to do to reduce nitrates was regular weekly water changes. That is quite a job when you have over 180 gallons of water stretched across 4 different tanks. Now I don’t feel as pressed to do my water changes on an exact day. I have wiggle room which is amazing. I only do water changes now to elimate mulm build up and loss of mineral content.
This product is absolutely with out a doubt the best media out there and I will not use anything but this!! On top of that Don Chamberlain is very quick to respond to any request and by far surpasses any customer service I’ve ever seen. GreatWave is awesome and so is PondGuru! I wouldn’t know half the things I know now without his detailed videos of the nitrogen cycle and many other fish related facts. Thanks to you both for helping me help my little fishy friends! More fish lovers should know about this product…

I received my order of BioHome Ultimate filter media 2 days after placing my order. Great Wave had the best pricing I have found for this product.
When the package arrived, it had an instructions page included and a nice note thanking me for my order, both of which were appreciated.
I have not tried BioHome products before, but have heard very good things. I am going to add the filter media to my system this weekend and will post another review in a few weeks, once I know how it affects my nitrate levels.

Purchased a house with a 125 built in the wall freshwater tank. I thought it looked alittle dirty but once we moved in I learned all about ammonia, nitrates, and why algae was growing faster than a race car in this tank. (Never owned an aquarium before.) So with massive web researching, purchasing cleaning tools and testing kits, I went to work. The tank finally went to 0 ammonia and from off the charts nitrates to a steady 80. Just couldn’t seem to get the nitrates down more than 60 to 80. When I saw several of the Pondguru videos I learned my Eheim canister was set up wrong so I ordered the ultimate media. When it came in I cleaned out the canister and left one small bag of media that had been in there and placed foams and 2 pounds of ultimate. I couldn’t believe it….in 2 weeks my nitrates were down to 5. I had never had a five, and pretty much tested every day ammonia and nitrates since moving into the house since I was working on getting the tank cleaned up. I have since made a moving bed filter with ultimate media in a fake rock formation and now my nitrates are 0 to barely showing color. So, this stuff works. I will not use any other media.
