Description

MAXI is a large media similar to Biohome Ultra, but with the added trace minerals found in the Plus and Ultimate media. Biohome MAXI is perfect for use in your trickle tower and shower filter, or sump.

Biohome MAXI media is similar to Ultra media with a  extremely porous structure and the added benefit of trace elements including iron and manganese. These trace elements are baked right into the media and are there to enhance the bacterial processes. They’re not going to be releasing large volumes of minerals into your tank or pond that might adversely affect your plants or marine life.

Complimentary Filter Starter Balls (1/4 Bag per Kilogram) are shipped with each order. The media recovers quickly after the use of medications.

Biohome allows both nitrifying (aerobic) and denitrifying (anaerobic) bacteria to grow on and through it’s unique structure. This allows it to also control nitrates. Check the Rules of Thumb for Nitrate Reduction to estimate how much you’ll need to reduce the nitrates in your pond or tank.

MAXI is a biological filter media and good mechanical filtration must be provided to insure the water passing through it does not contain any debris that might clog it.

    I received my kilo of media today as well as 11 starter balls. I have a Fluval 306 and a kilo can fill up a little more than a basket so I with the rest of the space not taken up I dumped back my ceramic media. The extra 500g of the ceramic media I through with the first stage of the filter where the initial coarse pads are. I have some left over because I didn’t know if my flow rate would be effected and it seems likes it wouldn’t be so the rest will go back it. I’m looking forward to seeing my Nitrate levels go down.

    Being fron the Bronx, New York I’m new to the fish keeping hobby. I Have a 55gal fish/turtle set up. I’m using a 75gal canister filter and i built a DIY trickle filter.so I have more than enough filtration. Im hopping the 3 kg of this media can do the job! Will let you guys know! I did all my research by following the Pond guru on his YouTube channel. He give great info.i recommend him to any his keeper hobbyist he’s so informative .from viewing his videos on this type media he introduced me to you guys great wave engineering as a U.S distributor. I’ll definitely give you guys feed back in about 2 months to see how effective this media is. In the mean time I highly recommend great wave engineering! Their the best! They answered all my questions, customer service was excellent price of media and shipping was very fare and shipping time was on point!! Great job you guys!!!!

    well i just got this media from the usa, im here now in the Philippines… my big tank is in the Philippines but since alot of my family members come and go to the US and back i decided to order so that it can be brought here. As expected this is one awesome media. I was used to biohome ultimate but when i saw this it was excited. This is because it would suit my needs better as i put the MAXI in a sump filtration cleaning my 220 gallon tank. No doubts with its capabilities to culture good bacteria for fishes and will get more soon! thank you again! recommend anyone to get a least a kilo to any filtration. Happy fish keeping!
