Description
The Foam Filter set consists of one sheet of 1″ thick 10 ppi Coarse foam, one sheet of 1″ thick 20 ppi Medium foam and one sheet of 1/2″ 45 ppi Fine foam.
Our foam is manufactured by EMW Filtertechnik GmbH in Germany. They manufacturer foam for many of the leading filter manufacturers such as Eheim and Fluval. It sells in the US under the name “Poret”.
Biohome media should only be placed behind an effective mechanical filter. We recommend using open pore reticulated filter foam as it is more uniform and reusable and can be easily cleaned and used for several years. Whenever possible we recommend using a stack of Coarse, Medium and Fine Foam in that order where the water flow hits the Coarse Foam first.
While open pore foam is readily available and quite inexpensive, you should be aware that most of this foam it is not suitable for use in an aquarium filter. All foam used in packaging and construction must contain flame inhibitors. This is impregnated in the foam and will leach out over time and is not something you want in your aquarium water.

I brought several 13″ foam filter set to use in the bottom trays of Sun Sun 304B canister filters. After using them for weeks I’ve noticed the difference in my aquarium water is really clear. No more little particles floating in the water. I cut all 3 foams, coarse, medium and fine and they all fit perfectly in the canister trays in each filter. I really love how my aquarium looks now. Great product .

The medium foam was way more thicker then it says, i was only able to fit the coarse and medium in one aquatop canister filter tray with no room for the fine, i really wanted all three to fit, i should note that i also have the biggest model filter and still could not fit all three in, kinda a downer but ill jus have to use either a generic pad to achieve what i want

Sorry that didn’t work out the way you expected, but I think if you measure the foam it is exactly as thick as we specified so I’m not sure why you thought it was “way more thicker than it says”. I think you could have easily got the stack to fit with a little compression or by placing the Fine Foam on the bottom of the next tray. I ordered this foam set along with Biohome for a new Sunsun filter I’m seeding. The delivery was extremely fast. I cut the foam to fit my bottom tray. On the second tray I’m using the Biohome and live bacteria filter balls. On the third tray I’m using Chemi Pure Elite. I can see a great change in my African Cichlids attitude and color. I would highly recommend this to any new or experienced fish keeper.
