Description
Biohome Ultimate is a best-selling sintered glass filter media. Ideal for aquariums and ponds, it works in canister filters, power filters, internal filters, and sumps. Its enormous surface area allows it to house large amounts of beneficial bacteria in a compact space. The media supports two types of aerobic nitrifying bacteria: Nitrosomonas, which converts ammonia (NH3) into less toxic nitrites (NO2), and Nitrobacter, which consumes nitrites (NO2) and excretes nitrates (NO3). Additionally, Biohome features a protected labyrinth of tunnels where anaerobic bacteria break down nitrates (NO3) into free nitrogen, ensuring a balanced and healthy aquatic environment. Proudly made in the UK, Biohome Ultimate is your go-to solution for superior biological filtration.

just reordered my Ultimate media for a new tank setup. I recommend using more than the suggested amount, this stuff works great, but it really depends on your livestock. You may need to add more, so don’t rely only on the recommended amount. At first, I didn’t have enough media for my tank and thought it wasn’t working. But after adding a second canister and more media, and letting it run for about two months, everything stabilized. there’s no such thing as overfiltration
